Job Overview: The Research & Development (R&D) Coordinator plays an essential role in driving Technical and Innovation-focused projects, ensuring the successful execution of R&D initiatives. This position involves organizing and managing technical projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve product development goals. The R&D Coordinator is responsible for supporting technical experiments, prototype development, and the integration of advanced technologies while ensuring projects align with company objectives and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Coordination: Assist in planning and organizing R&D and other cross-functional projects. Track project milestones and deliverables, providing updates to stakeholders. Support team members in prioritizing and resolving project-related challenges.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of R&D activities, including experiment data, reports, and meeting notes. Prepare reports and presentations for internal reviews and leadership. Ensure all documentation complies with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaboration: Serve as a liaison between the R&D team and other departments, such as Technical (Engineering) and Quality (QA, QC and Lab). Coordinate and schedule team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and external collaborations.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in R&D or laboratory setting
  • Skills:
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Asana, or Trello).
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Understanding of the product development lifecycle is a plus.

At The Vita Coco Company, compensation decisions are dependent upon a variety of factors, which may include, but are not limited to skill set, experience, education, training, licensure and certifications, knowledge and abilities of the applicant, alignment with market data, and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current pay range for this position is $70,000-$80,000. This range may vary for positions that will be performed outside of California, Colorado, Nevada, New York City, Westchester County, NY, Rhode Island, or Washington.
